A minister is someone sent by God to preach the gospel at a particular time.
Some folks when they get born again they start preaching the gospel and they run into trouble.
Some folks get to a vicinity without studying the vicinity they start preaching and they get into danger.
Who sent Stephen? In the act of the Apostle Stephen was a steward who was to minister to people via serving food and to care for the warfare of the people.
Stephen and others like Philip,Timon, Procharus,Nicamon and the likes of Nicolas where chosen for the business of serving food, ministering to the people and caring for them.
The acts of the Apostle's tells us that the Apostle's said we will give ourselves to the ministry of the word and to prayers. But these are to serve food and care for the people.
So literally the ministering of the word and prayers where for the Apostle's. And serving of food where for those chosen to do that. They the Apostle's layed hands on the stewards and they received the Holy Ghost to function in that capacity.
But we see Stephen greatly challenged and not minding his business running into trouble. Stephen spoke his own chapteristic epistle to the people challenging him.He gave them the history of the Bible till the time of Jesus.
He should have directed them to the Apostle's.Do you know that it was that same chapter Stephen was stoned and killed.You don't hear much of Stephen in the Bible.He could have avoided them and that argument.He could have durge them,like Jesus who wisely passed is the mist of the vagabond Jew when they wanted to kill him though his time was not yet at hand.
However Philip was was also called into the same ministry avoided Stephen mistake and fled to another city to preach the gospel.
Philip preached effectively that people got saved and the Apostle's with the higher authority came to where Philip preached and prayed for the people to receive the Holy Ghost.
Do you know that Philip preached to the Ethiopian Eunuch at the command of the Holy Spirit. It was then that he ministered to the the Ethiopian Eunuch and baptized him.
Philip actually knew his jurisdiction and operated with wisdom and instruction of the Holy Spirit.
Philip studied the situation and was effective. You too must study the situation and be effective. You must be wise in preaching the gospel. You cannot afford to run into unnecessary trouble while preaching the gospel.
In the case of Paul a man in the Acts of Apostle took Paul's girdle and said the man it this girdle will be bond at Jerusalem. Paul said that he was not only going to witness in Jerusalem both to died at Jerusalem. Do you know that in the latter chapter Jesus appeared to and confirmed that Paul will testify of him in Jerusalem.
Stay in the office God has placed you.You must be equipped to preach the gospel. You must be filled with the Holy Ghost and power.
